How to Join

Nearly every week one or more individuals new to our community or to St. John's join us as we participate in worhsip.  We are anxious to get to know you and to have you as a member of our church family.  Traditionally, there are three ways you can become a member of St. John's United Methodist Church:

  1. Baptism and Profession of Faith:  A person professing Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, participating in the Sacrament of Baptism and becoming a Baptized Member of St. John's United Methodist Church.
  2. Transfer of Membership from another denomination:  a person coming by transfer of membership from another Christian faith tradition.
  3. Transfer from another United Methodist Church:  a person coming by transfer of membership from another United Methodist Church.

Traditionally, individuals join the church at the close of a worship service.  We invite you to meet the pastors at the altar during the singing of the final hymn and make the vows to support the church with your prayers, your presence, your gifts, and your service.  This is a special moment for all of the congregation and does not require that you make any prior arrangements.  If you are not comfortable joining during a worship service please contact one of the pastors to make other arrangements.

We look forward to getting to know you and to having you as a part of our church family.
